If you’ve kept up with our blog, you know how much we stress the importance of SEO. Without SEO, your dental practice’s website might never be discovered by someone who searches the internet. At eDentalImage we provide SEO services to boost your website’s ranking to the first or second page of Google’s search results. SEO is an ongoing process that requires constant updates if you want to see real, long lasting results. But even if you are always updating your SEO, it’s important to remember that SEO alone doesn’t guarantee your website’s success for the rest of its career.
SEO will make your website more visible, but combining it with quality content brings you more conversions.
For example, let’s say you’ve just moved to Colombia, South Carolina and are looking for a dentist in the area. You get on your smartphone and search Google for “Dentists near Colombia.” Naturally, you click on the first few websites that pop up, all of which obviously have good SEO. There are three types of potential websites you might encounter:
- In the first scenario, you notice the website you’re on just doesn’t have all the information you want to know. They only briefly describe their office culture and procedures, and the empty content leaves you with more questions than you had before you even clicked on the link to their site.
- The second scenario involves you landing on a website that uses a lot of complex dental terminology you don’t understand, leaving you with a feeling of being overwhelmed.
- Lastly, you could land on a website that clearly and directly explains what their dental practice is all about. You can easily understand the type of procedures they perform, and they have valuable information on all of their pages.
Which dental practice would you choose to join? The choice seems pretty simple. The one with good content, of course! You might not realize it, but good content really goes a long way. Having an effective SEO provider is very important, and gets you to the top of Google’s results, but having good content is essential for converting website visitors into new patients. People who land on your website can easily filter out the good content from the bad. You’d better believe that they will base their judgment of your dental practice on those 2 to 3 minutes they spend skimming your website.
